- If all of these units are authorized east Corkscrew Road will be home to a total of about 8,500 housing units, an increase of about 3,600 from today’s 4,900 housing units.
- The eastern access to the I-75 Corkscrew Road Interchange is not only fed by east Corkscrew Road but also by rapidly developing south Ben Hill Griffin.
- Since the beginning of 2015 construction has started on 260 rental housing units in the Springs of Estero and 387 homes for seniors in the Tidewater development, both less than a mile from Corkscrew Road.
- Last year Lee County approved shifting most of the future development of Miromar Lakes to the area south of the University. When fully built out this development will contain 2,600 housing units and 590,000 square feet of commercial apace.
- Thus a total of 6,850 addition housing units could soon generate additional traffic for the east side of the Interchange.
